What happens between the winning bid and getting the keys.
Winning the auction is the start of a clear, short process. You and the seller move to signing the deed before a notary; your deposit counts toward the price, and you arrange the balance, usually via your pre-approved mortgage.
The notary handles the land-register entry that transfers ownership and releases the escrowed funds to the seller's side on completion. Keys change hands on the agreed date. Timelines differ by canton but are predictable once the deed is scheduled.
